For Healing our Nation
Friends, we know our nation, these days, is highly polarized. No matter what our political persuasion or who wins in this November’s elections, the coming weeks will be a time of uncertainty, anxiety, and adjustment for many. Even if “our side” wins, we will still need to interact with others who are disappointed in the results.
Our Mission & Advocacy team invites you to engage in 4-weeks of prayer for healing our nation using the scripture verses and prayer prompts below. Hovering the cursor over the scripture links in the table should display the scripture text. Clicking on the scripture links takes you to the passage on an external page. Scripture texts are from the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV).
Several of these scripture verses and prayer prompts are from the “40 Days of Prayer” for the weeks leading up to the election, compiled by Rev. Desiree Lawson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury, MA.
